Don't get me wrong, I love strawberries, blueberries and peaches but my favorite time of year is September and October. AKA: "apple season". The daytime temps are still great for getting outside and enjoying the sunshine while the nights are cooling off and the apples are dangling from their branches begging to be picked (unlike the mean apple trees in "The Wizard of Oz")
Paula Reds on the tree
This week, Norway Hill Orchard in Hancock has started picking Paula Red apples...and it doesn't get any better than biting into a crisp juicy apple picked right off the tree. In addition to the apples, Norway Hill offers sweeping views of the surrounding countryside.

The only question now is how to eat them: fresh or in a pie/cake/crisp. Answer is: "Yes" :)
