Busy Columbus Day Weekend in Monadnock Region...

What a great weekend to be in Peterborough...I don't know if I can list everything going on this weekend but I will try.

Interested in laughing?  Frost Heaves comedy is perfect playing Firday and Saturday nights at the Peterborough Players which we are hoping to attend ourselves.

How about opera or classical music.  The Peterborough Players is also hosting The Met: Live in HD at Peterborough Players: Das Rheingold (Wagner) and Monadnock Music Festival is offering two classical music concerts.

Interested in shopping?  Peterboro Basket Company is having their annual Fall Tent Sale

As for festivals, there are quite a few to enjoy...especially if you like art and crafts.  There is the 15th Annual Open Studio Art Tour and the 3rd Annual Fall Foliage Art Studio Tour.  There is also the 26th Annual NH Wool Arts Tour and the Fall Festival of Quilts.

Jaffrey has its annual Scarecrows on The Common and Saturday is scarecrow building day.  For a nominal fee, show up in Jaffrey, they supply the materials, and build a scarecrow that will be mounted lining the main streets of Jaffrey for the rest of the month.

Of course there are all your outdoor activities like hiking, cycling, kayaking, covered bridge and stone arch bridge tours, raptor observatory to view the hawk migration, apple picking, and a corn maze at Washburn's Windy Hill Orchard in Greenfield.
