Just when we thought we had mentioned all of the upcoming events this weekend, we heard about a couple more!
One is the Peterborough Historical Society's Holiday House 2007, a home decorated for the holidays by the region's top designers. This year's Holiday House is Hillcrest at The MacDowell Colony. The house is open today, October 4 through Sunday, October 7 from 10 am to 4 pm. Ticket proceeds benefit the Peterborough Historical Society ($15 for adults, $8 for Youth, ages 12-18, Children under 12 are free). Directions and additional information can be found at the Historical Society's website: www.peterboroughhistory.org/holiday_house_2007.htm.
The second event is a New Hampshire Green Buildings Open House on Saturday, October 6 from 10 am to 4 pm. The tour includes houses and buildings in Sharon, Dublin, Peterborough, and Hancock among others. In Peterborough, the Nubanusit Neighborhood & Farm is one of the properties being featured.
This cohousing community, with 1-4 bedroom homes in a pedestrian-friendly neighborhood setting, woodland trails, and an organic farm, is just a very short walk from our B&B! For more information and maps, go to: www.nhsea.org.
Did I say "a couple"? Well, here's one more... This Saturday the New Hampshire Audubon is celebrating an expansion of Willard Pond Wildlife
Sanctuary located in Hancock and Antrim. The expansion includes a new trail to access land above the lake. The celebration begins at 10:00 am with a ceremony to honor those involved with the project followed by an inaugural hike on the new trail up Bald Mountain.
Happy Fall!
