Here comes Fall (Part II)…

Leaf Peeping

While it is nearly impossible to predict the best time to see the fall colors, the foliage report at www.visitnh.gov provides an approximation of the peak season (based on last year's conditions) with local updates on current conditions.

Art Tours and Studio Open Houses

Although we missed this year's annual Hillsborough Artisans Open Studio Tour (www.hillsboroughartisans.com) on September 15 & 16, 2007, it is now on our list of things to watch for next year! Lucky for us, there are more Art Tours to come. Monadnock Art/Friends of the Dublin Art Colony are presenting "Art Tour 12" on October 6 and 7, 2007. This is their 12th Annual Open Studio Tour featuring 57 artists at 49 locations. There is even a preview exhibition from September 28 through October 8 at the Redmond Bennett Gallery in Dublin. For more information, visit www.monadnockart.org.

"Barns of Distinction Tour" - Hancock, September 29, 2007

The Hancock Woman's Club is presenting a self-guided tour of eight Hancock barns including a reconstructed early 19th century Hancock barn and a four-story livestock barn with a "cow's room". The tour takes place from 10 am to 3 pm and starts at the Vestry in Hancock where there will be refreshments and a unique art sale. Ticket are available locally for $10.

Food and Fun - 5th Annual Schnitzelfest - Hillsborough, September 29, 2007

Enjoy German food and music at this free event in downtown Hillsborough at Butler Park from 10 am to 6 pm. (Hillsborough is about a half-hour away, but the drive north on 202 is really quite pretty right now.)

Peterboro Baskets Fall Tent Sale - September 28, 29, and 30, 2007

According to the Peterboro Basket website, this is their last tent sale of the year. A great time to get some really good deals!
